Actualities: Individuals and ancient religions

The new book of professor  Jörg Rüpkeleading scholar of Roman religious studies is the latest fruit of his previous international project.  He is the editor of the new book, entitled “The individual in the religions of the Ancient Mediterranean”  appeared at the Oxford University Press in 2013 August. The book is the third one appeared as a result of this research project (Aberglauben oder Individualitat? Religiöse Abweichung im römischen Reich. Tübingen, 2011 and Reflections on Religious Individuality, De Gruyer, 2012).

It contains 18 articles, presenting a wide range of perspectives on Roman religion and individual maniefestations from Hellenistic to Early Christian periods. Among the contributors we can find some of the leading scholars of Roman religions, like Ando Clifford, John North and Richard Gordon.
